Skye Thomas
Accredited Exercise Physiologist and Yoga Teacher
I strive to positively impact the health and wellbeing of our community, with a keen interest in women’s health. I enjoy working closely with women during the transitions of pregnancy and postpartum as I believe this is such an impactful time of a woman’s life.
I completed my Bachelor of Science (Health and Exercise Science) at UNSW in Sydney in 2006. After graduating I worked in a number of different areas from workplace injury rehabilitation and prevention, to preventative health in a corporate setting, to working at Australia’s number 1 Organic Wellness Retreat ‘Gwinganna’.
Along the way I discovered that with all my knowledge of science of the body, I was missing the tools and understanding of psychology and mindset. As this is much more powerful to drive behavioural change especially when mixed with emotion than physiology alone. So I went on to become a Life and Business coach to help my clients achieve their goals more holistically.
My love affair with yoga began back in high school at the tender age of 14. It was taken to a whole new level during pregnancy with my first daughter. For the first time I really experienced “yoga” both on and off the mat. The connection to my growing baby inside of me was indescribable in words…….and I was hooked! I went on to complete my 200hr yoga teacher training and further training for pre and postnatal yoga.
I teach private one on one sessions and small group classes. Each session is designed around the specific needs and goals of each person. I enjoy supporting my students to explore the edges of their comfort zone.
I enjoy working with people to improve their overall strength, mobility and wellness to experience a greater feeling of health and enjoyment of life.
